There are many great dining options on Sanibel, but we always like trying something new when it opens on the Island. We believe in being familiar with each and every unit we represent and feel like this gives us the knowledge necessary to make recommendations to our guests. This also applies to local restaurants. We each have our preferred spots and like to recommend our favorites to our guests. I know the first opinion I seek out in new areas is a local’s.
Today our office tried the newly opened Paper Fig Kitchen. Located in the Tahitian Gardens Plaza on Periwinkle, the eatery brings something different to Sanibel. They offer take along items, catering and even concierge style services like delivery.
After a long day at the beach, it is nice to know they offer items you can take to-go and enjoy. You don’t have to worry about getting dressed up and fancy to go pick up dinner. This would also be a great stop to take prior to the beach to have an iced coffee and quick breakfast or to grab sandwiches to take with you to enjoy for lunch.
Every item at Paper Fig is prepared fresh daily from scratch. We each tried one of their delicious sandwiches: the Britt Club, the Crabby Patty, and the D.Y. I personally had the Britt Britt Club and thought it was delicious. It is a sandwich with in-house roasted herb turkey breast with bacon, creamy Havarti cheese, herb mayo, lettuce, tomato, and avocado mash on sourdough bread. The combination of flavors made for an excellent taste. I had the dill potato salad on the side and that was delicious as well. Both of my coworkers equally enjoyed their selections and are looking forward to our next lunch.
We are excited to recommend this new eatery to our guests and can’t wait to try more items ourselves! Feel free to view their website at www.paperfigkitchen.com.
