Admit it...don't you love it when your hometown or your favorite place gets mentioned in a nationwide medium (when it's GOOD news, of course). That's how we feel about a recent article in Southern Living magazine.
It starts off by interviewing a couple who discovered and moved to Sanibel 35 years ago after a particularly brutal winter (sound familiar). Naturally, it continues with nature, mentioning the J.N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife and the Bailey-Matthews Shell Museum (as part of the island sport of shell collecting).
From there, because the reader will be hungry for more, local dining is teased. This is because there aren't enough pages in the issue to fully cover everything the island have to offer, from casual dining and romantic dinners to dessert havens. Activities, shops, and popular resorts are also mentioned. (Hey! How come vacation rentals aren't mentioned here? Guess that's what WE'RE here for.)
