Sanibel’s natural environment has made a dramatic comeback. Through extensive debris removal by city and county crews, native vegetation has flourished. Newly planted trees and lush greenery are doing more than restoring the island’s beauty—they are also actively absorbing groundwater, helping manage heavy summer rains naturally.
