Mardi Gras is upon on us once again! For those that can’t be in New Orleans or Mobile (Fact: the first American celebration of Mardi Gras was in Mobile, Alabama…15 years before the founding of New Orleans) can still party here on Sanibel Island.

Mudbugs, Sanibel’s first and only Cajun kitchen, will have their second annual Mardi Gras party from 11am till closing at 10pmon Tuesday February 25th. They will have Happy Hour all day, live music, $5 Hurricanes and Cajun Bloody Marys, and fresh crawfish boils. Expect plenty of other great food, spirits, King cake, and more. Be sure to stop by at 1473 Periwinkle Way (across from Billy’s Bikes). For more information, call (239) 472-2221.

If you prefer to be by the Gulf for the Carnival, head to Traditions On the Beach at the Island Inn on 3111 West Gulf Drive. The party starts at 4pm and goes till closing at 10pm. Live Music with New Orleans style jazz and dancing, party favors, and a Creole cuisine added to their regular menu! For more information, call (239) 472-4559.

We hope you enjoy yourselves responsibly, and we don’t just mean having a designated driver. Let’s just say, “Let what happens on Bourbon Street STAY on Bourbon Street,” shall we?
