There’s one pet peeve guests have when renting a condo or home; losing your keys and/or getting locked out of your place.
Sanibel Holiday is working to end all that by refitting all front doors with keyless entry locks. This is an ongoing process, but we are more than halfway complete.
Doors will now have a keypad and guests will be given a code at check-in to lock and unlock the door. Some locks will be different than others:
Many will have a turning key latch. Once you enter the code and get the green approval light, you can turn the keyhole latch to unlock the door and enter. In some cases, you can re-lock as you leave by pushing the “Schlage” button above the numbers and turn the latch in the opposite direction.
Some will have a keypad and a handle. After entering the code and getting the approval light, you will hear the lock turn and will be able to turn the handle to open. In many cases, the door will re-lock itself.
If your condo has a storage locker in the building, you will find a hard key for it hanging where it can be easily seen as you come in, either by the front door or as you enter the kitchen (usually on a key rack). This is the key to the storage locker where beach items (among other things) can be found.
If you have linked your reservation to the DACK app (more on that later), you will find this information listed. The key code will be withheld for your safety in the app until check-in time at approximately 3:00 pm. Our Guest Welcome Center will also have a hard copy of this available for you. If you experience any problems with your locks, please let us know. If it’s after hours and cannot wait until the next business day, please call either (239) 472-6565 or (800) 572-6423 and follow the emergency voicemail prompts. This will alert an on-call associate to return your call.
