Practically any location to stay on Sanibel is desirable, but the most popular view at any location is the beach view, and the best BEACH view is the Gulf-Front. Looking straight out to water as dolphins swim by or pelicans dive down for a meal. Sanibel Holiday features excellent Gulf-Front locations at various locations along the island’s coast.
Among the most popular of all our condos are at Gulf Beach on East Gulf Drive. Approximately half a mile from the East End and the Lighthouse, it’s one of the smallest complexes. Only 14 condos, but all Gulf-Front with both floors above ground-level. There is also easy access to the beach with boardwalks, a community heated pool, and charcoal grills. This is a quiet location with virtually no traffic congestion. We manage 10 condos (including 3 corner units), all two-bedroom, two-bathroom with full kitchens, living rooms (with sleep sofas), and screened-in lanais facing the beach.
An even smaller complex, Golden Beach has only 4 condos and is one of the closest complexes to the beach on Sanibel. Unit #4 is a rare 3-bedroom, 2000 square foot condo that has everything you need to enjoy the island. Not only is it on the beach with a heated community pool, but it also has an air-conditioned cabana and a sunroom for added fun in the sun. The owner also provides 3 bicycles in the garage, beach equipment , beach towels, 4 flatscreen HDTV’s with DVD/Blu-Ray players and free HBO/Showtime and music channels for added entertainment. Golden Beach sits a short walk from the Casa Ybel Resort and its historic Thistle Lodge restaurant. This unit is also pet-friendly (restrictions may apply).
Sanibel Holiday manages 3 condos (all Gulf-Front) at Sanddollar (2 three-bedroom and 1 two-bedroom), located on Middle Gulf Drive just a few blocks from the Sundial Beach Resort (restaurants and spa open to the public) and the Sanibel Island Golf Club. With only 54 units in this complex, it’s a tranquil location just steps from the beach and pool. You can also enjoy tennis and PICKLEBALL (a popular “new” sport in Florida).
The further west you get on Sanibel, the better chance you have of catching the sunset on the water, the highlight of any tropical stay. Tarpon Beach is one of the westernmost complexes in our program, on West Gulf Drive near the intersection with Tarpon Bay Road (which leads to one end of the famous Periwinkle Way shops and restaurants). This is also an all-Gulf-Front complex, 30 two-bedroom condos facing directly on the beach (we manage 8, including 4 corner units) with a community heated pool and gas grills.
Another popular location is Villa Sanibel on West Gulf Drive near Tarpon Bay Road and the Casa Ybel Resort. A quiet location with a pool and tennis courts. We manage 8 condos in this 20-unit complex, but none are more popular than our rare ground-floor Gulf-Front condos in Building 1, units 1A and 1C. When we say they are steps away from the beach, we mean you’re practically touching sand as soon as you step out of your lanai. Beach equipment is provided in both condos.
