Things to do on Sanibel

At least, that’s how we see it.

Since the beginning of 2021, Sanibel Holiday has booked literally hundreds of new reservations, most of which are for the winter and spring months.  By the time you read this, that number will surely reach 1000! (And it isn’t even March Madness yet!).  We average at least a dozen new bookings per day by phone or online (even on Sunday, when we’re closed).

Be sure to check our Specials section, because there are still a few places with a week or two open for this March and April.  It will certainly be a lot better than *last* March and April (For those not aware, Sanibel restricted all tourism arrivals, including vacation rentals, hotels, motels and resorts in 2020 in accordance to the Governor’s executive order in the early stages of COVID-19.).

If you think it’s too late to plan your trip to Sanibel and Captiva, think again.  Many of our bookings have been short notice, some within the same week of booking (and in a couple of cases, the same DAY!)

The weather will be here; average highs in March are 80 degrees, lows in the high 50s.  There’s less rainfall and humidity, with comfortable winds, exciting waves on the beach, manatees, dolphins, and the world-famous SHELLS (shipped to our beach daily by Mother Nature).

Speaking of shells, March will be especially pleasant with the annual Sanibel Shell Festival (March 4th, 5th, and 6th), featuring painting on sea and shell life to admire and even take home.  For more information, please follow this link.
