Each summer we have families flock to Sanibel Island so their kids can attend Sanibel Sea School’s summer camp programs. For those unaware, Sanibel Sea School is dedicated to teaching children and adults about marine ecosystems. They give students the opportunity to touch, feel and interact with Sanibel’s natural surroundings. They foster an “intimate connection with our ocean planet and a wellspring for lifelong stewardship”.

Each summer they offer weekly day camp programs for kids 4-13 as well as “counselor in training” camps for kids 13-18. Each week they focus on a different topic. For example, the first camp  focuses on the stargazer fish who has 50 volts of electricity sitting right behind those sweet ogling eyes. The kids will learn all about electrical energy and learn how creatures in the sea have harnessed the ability to use electricity.

In 2019 the weekly camps run from 6/7-8/23 and are subject to availability and registration. Sanibel Sea School offers camps at their Sanibel Flagship Campus as well as Sundial.
