Just when things were (finally) starting to quiet down on the islands…we’re all getting excited again for Sundays (and not just because football’s back)!

The Sanibel Island Farmer’s Market is back for its 14th season from the beginning of October through the end of May (including Easter Sunday).  Located near City Hall on Dunlop Road (with additional parking by the BIG ARTS Strauss Theater nearby), the Farmer’s Market has vendors offering the widest range of foods, snacks, treats, and gifts every Sunday from 8am to 1pm. We often tell guests, “Go hungry. Don’t even have your coffee yet.” That’s because one of the vendors is Jimmy’s Java, with excellent fresh roasted coffee and espresso flavors, both hot and cold brew to drink here and packaged to bring home.

The Market is open from 8am to 1pm so you can have plenty of time to shop, dine, and enjoy the warm (but not as humid) weather before getting back to watch your favorite games.  It appears that, unlike last season, masks are not mandated.  (However, we suggest keeping one handy, just in case.)  Also, you should probably only touch what you intend to buy.

If you forget to go on Sunday, don’t fret.  Because beginning November 2, the Market will also be on Captiva Island every Tuesday from 9am to 1pm through April, located in Chadwick’s Circle (just outside the entrance to South Seas Resort).

Be sure to find them on Facebook, too (“Sanibel Island Farmer’s Market”), for videos and updates (like new vendors).  For more information on markets on the islands or on the mainland, go to buylocallee.com.
